Road to Paris Qualification Continues

Eighteen athletes from eight countries have taken the first step towards Olympic glory, earning their places at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris after the Boxing Africa Qualifier in Senegal.

Boxing has a rich history at the Olympics, dating back to its inclusion in the Ancient Olympic Games in 688 BCE. In modern times, boxing has been featured at every edition of the Games since its debut at St. Louis 1904. At Paris 2024, a total of 248 boxers will compete for gold medals in 13 weight classes.

The Boxing Road to Paris qualification pathway offers athletes a variety of paths to the Games, including continental events, the European Games, the Asian Games, and the Pan American Games. The Africa Qualifier was the first of these events, and its successful completion has provided early insight into the potential contenders for the Olympic medals.
