The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued new requirements for bringing dogs into the United States. Effective immediately, there is a permanent embargo on boxes as well as excess oversize and overweight bags.

Additional Fees May Apply

In addition, some airlines may charge additional fees for transporting dogs. In some cases, you may not have to pay these fees for up to three bags when traveling on itineraries marketed by American Airlines.

Settlement Reached

American Airlines has agreed to pay out a minimum of $75 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging that the airline mishandled pets.
