Hermès Heir Loses Lawsuit Against Former Financial Advisor
Nicolas Puech's Lawsuit Dismissed by Swiss Court
Shares Valued at 13 Billion Euros at Stake
An heir to the Hermès luxury fortune has lost a lawsuit against a former financial advisor he claimed had stolen at least 13 billion euros ($14 billion) from him. Nicolas Puech, valued by Forbes in 2024 at 136 billion euros owing to the 81-year-old's stake in the Parisian fashion house founded by his ancestor, alleged that his wealth advisor mismanaged his Hermès shares valued at that amount.
A Swiss court has dismissed Puech's claims. The court ruled that the financial advisor had not acted negligently or breached any fiduciary duties. The lawsuit had been closely watched as it could have set a precedent for other cases involving wealthy individuals and their financial advisors.
