Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold saved their blushes with an 80th-minute equaliser to hold league leaders Manchester City to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. The goal came after Manchester City’s Erling Haaland had broken yet another record to give the hosts an early lead, but the Norwegian striker couldn’t find the winner to secure all three points for his team.
The result means Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but they are now four points behind Arsenal at the top of the table. Manchester City stay in second place, one point ahead of Chelsea and two points ahead of Tottenham.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp will be relieved to have come away from the Etihad Stadium with a point, but he will know that his team will need to improve if they are to challenge for the title this season.
