Newsweek has identified nine potential Democratic candidates who could replace Biden: Vice President Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Bernie Sanders, Governor Gavin Newsom, Senator Cory Booker, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. However, it's important to note that there is no formal mechanism to replace the US president as the presumptive nominee
