Palmer Shines As Young Lions Secure Euros Berth
England U21 manager Lee Carsley has praised the performance of Chelsea forward Cole Palmer after the Young Lions secured their place in the U21 European Championship Finals.
Palmer was one of the standout players as England defeated Croatia 2-0 in Rijeka on Tuesday to book their place in next summer's tournament in Romania and Georgia.
The 20-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer, scored England's second goal and was a constant threat to the Croatian defence throughout the game.
Carsley said: "Cole was excellent tonight. He showed his quality on the ball and his movement was very good. He's a player who can make things happen and he's going to be a big asset for us in the Finals."
